Patricia Tao

Pianist Patricia Tao, founding member of the Guild Trio from 1988-1998, has led an active career as both soloist and chamber musician.

With the Trio, she won the prestigious USIA [United States Information Agency] Artistic Ambassador competition, resulting in a seven-country European tour. The following year her trio was awarded the position of Trio-in-Residence at the Tanglewood Music Center, where they were lauded by the Boston Globe as a “beautiful new landmark” on the concert stage.

She founded the Hear’s to Your Health concert series at the Walter MacKenzie Health Sciences Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Offering free admission to classical music concerts for frazzled hospital workers as well as the general public, these concerts now have an appreciative following.

For the past few years, she has performed with cellist Marina Hoover, founding member of the internationally recognized and award-winning St. Lawrence String Quartet.

Most recently, violinist Jasmine Lin, prizewinner in the Naumberg and Paganini International competitions, has joined them to form an exciting new group —
Trio Voce.
